COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hearty northern people love a hearty stout beer. We've teamed up wtih Yukon's famous Midnight Sun Coffee Roaster to create this special blend. Originally developed for "Bean Queen" Zola Dore in a small batch kettle system by Yukoner Mitt Stehelin, we've retained the artisan qualities of this unique, unfiltered brew. The robust taste of this hearty stout starts with the smooth glide of real espresso and finishes with a dry chocolatey malt flavour. Why the big bottle? You'll love it so much, you'll want to share it with a friend, or not!

341ml bottle. Pours black with a 1/4 finger mocha head that thins out to a film quickly. Aroma has large notes of coffee, bitter chocolate, and hints of molasses, vanilla, bread, and caramel. Taste is bitter with a much the same notes as the aroma. Coffee, bitter chocolate, roasted malts. Medium body with a low-medium carbonation. A bit of a thin texture in the mouth but with a slight creamyness. Easily drinkable. Overall pretty good. It is just what you would expect from an espresso stout but I wouldn’t call it a Sweet Stout. Big coffee flavours that is very drinkable, Mind you this bottle was a touch past its date it was still very good. I would buy again.

Couleur noir avec quelques reflets brun et un mince col beige. Nez intense de café et de malt grillés. En bouche c’est très onctueux, beaucoup de café frais et de grains grillés un peu de chocolat. Très bien balancé. Une bière simple mais excellente!

Bottle. Picked this up on my way home, was in the mood for a stout and got tempted by the espresso. Overall a nice light stout. Coffee flavor is not overpowering, bitter aftertaste that lingers more than I like. A peppery taste as well that I wasn't expecting, but good. Certainly not my favorite stout but I will be a repeat buyer to mix things up in my repertoire. And it's Canadian brew, good job guys! I'll be watching for other beers from you in my local SAQ. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Rating #944- Jan 28, 2014 - Bottle from the dark side mix pack. 6.2%. Dark brown pour with a weak off white head. Earthy espresso on the nose, and mild chocolate, caramel malt notes. Taste is very rich in coffee, earth, dark chocolate. Bitter, dry finish, quite balanced with the chocolate and coffee bean sweetness. Nice.

Thanks to Skyview for my first Yukon beer. Coffee and some chocolate in the flavor. Roasted malt aroma, with light coffee. Good palate.

Bottle shared by Skyview - thanks!! Dark brown pour with a light tan head. Really nice coffee and malty nose. A little thin in the taste, slightly sweet and nice coffee bitterness in the finish.

Cheers!
