COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hearty northern people love a hearty stout beer. Weíve teamed up wtih Yukonís famous Midnight Sun Coffee Roaster to create this special blend. Originally developed for "Bean Queen" Zola Dore in a small batch kettle system by Yukoner Mitt Stehelin, weíve retained the artisan qualities of this unique, unfiltered brew. The robust taste of this hearty stout starts with the smooth glide of real espresso and finishes with a dry chocolatey malt flavour. Why the big bottle? Youíll love it so much, youíll want to share it with a friend, or not!

341ml bottle. Pours black with a 1/4 finger mocha head that thins out to a film quickly. Aroma has large notes of coffee, bitter chocolate, and hints of molasses, vanilla, bread, and caramel. Taste is bitter with a much the same notes as the aroma. Coffee, bitter chocolate, roasted malts. Medium body with a low-medium carbonation. A bit of a thin texture in the mouth but with a slight creamyness. Easily drinkable. Overall pretty good. It is just what you would expect from an espresso stout but I wouldnít call it a Sweet Stout. Big coffee flavours that is very drinkable, Mind you this bottle was a touch past its date it was still very good. I would buy again.

Deep brown and clear. Aroma is coffee and roast malt. Caramel and bitter coffee, not really a dark espresso but a decent flavour. Iím sure Iíve had this but I donít remember.

Bottle. A dark brown beer with a small, dense, dark beige head. Mostly clear. The aroma has a lovely mocha scent at first, but after a while Iím not really sure how nice it is. Thereís some vegetal hints in the back, thereís roasted malts and dark chocolate, but itís mocha that dominates. Itís a bit thin on the palate, itís soft and smooth and semi-dry. Mocha, dark chocolate and a little roasted kind of bitterness in the flavor, all lasting for a good while. Overall, a fine brew, but itís a bit ordinary and it lacks body. Drinks easy though. 150613

Aroma is roasty malts, caramel, vanilla and some espresso. Taste is similar to aroma but it finishes somewhat flat and very light on mouthfeel . Appearance is black with a thin pearl head that retains fairly poorly.

Bottle shared with my brother in-law. Pours an opaque colour, light tan head that dies to a ring, some minor flecks of lace. Nose is strong coffee flavour, a little sweet malt, coffee is really dominant. Tastes sweet, coffee bitter, quite rich coffee flavour.

Pours an opaque black robe topped by a finger or so of moka head. The nose delivers tons of roasted coffee beans and burnt toasts paired with strong dark chocolate, challenging an imperial russian stout. The taste is bold and coarse with strong coffee, bitter dark chocolate and nutty features in the back. This is a hearty stout with the flavour profile of an imperial russian stout. The bitterness is not overwhelming, but be warned it is pretty powerful.
