| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 1, 2006 bottle from oldgrowth. Taste is a acidic citrus. seems to have a tad of roast in the aftertaste. I didn’t really enjoy this to much. Possible the worst IPA i’ve ever had. JAF737300 (805), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 7, 2007 Poured yellow with a medium head. The notes of hops on the nose seemd a bit grassy. Teh mouthfeel had a deep bitterness with a long bitter finish but some odd metallic flavors. MartinT (5080), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 21, 2005 The Lure: Earthy, citrusy, orange-y and leafy hops proliferate at an astounding rate. Malts aren’t participating much, this is a hophead’s daily fix.
The Festivities: Back bitterness shocks the palate without offering any peace or distinct flavoring. Carbonation is quite frothy for the style, and makes the portentous hoppiness feel chalky. Oranges are prevalent, and obviously hop character dominates the feeble malt presence. No attempt to balance in this bottle, which I respect, but this was too agressive for me that day.
Transcendence: Even with good intentions, a misplaced pat on the back can really hurt your neck. Braudog (3789), Dayton, Ohio, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Sep 23, 2007 Bottle. This poured bright yellow-orange with a massive barrier of rocky, firm foam protecting the beer below. Little aroma can penetrate this fortress of foam, but eventually there’s a bit of a fruity, grassy waft. Onto the tongue, the initial impression is a very dry and acidic hoppiness. As I go, the bitterness mellows a bit but still rears its head as the final bit of aftertaste on every swallow. Added to the earthy hops is a caramel appleyness. Could’ve done a bit better with the balance on this one, as it comes off a bit harsh. This would still pair nicely with my wife’s spicy humus or some nice firey chicken wings. | 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Nov 19, 2002 Clear golden amber. Barely a white edge head. A bubble or two of carbonation. Aroma of wort, vegetables and trace citric hops. Flat texture, roasted and bitter malts with a green hop base. Bitter aftertaste. Cottony, medium body. Gets even more green and bitter as it goes along. Slight toasted malt edge. Finishes thinner, one sided and very bitter. Bad bottling, or the flavor they’re shooting for? 2beerguys (299), North Shore, Massachusetts, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Feb 11, 2006 The Z Street IPA pours a hazy, light amber color with a small, fizzy, off-white head. There are small particles in the body. Aroma gives off a moderate flowery hop scent. Initial flavor is a heavy bitter one that mellows to light bitter at the finish. Light to medium body on the palatte with an oily texture and soft carbonation. DYCSoccer17 (2201), Davis, California, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Jul 24, 2005 Bottle. Sticky, swet, peppery, orange-citrus hop aroma. Kind of weird aroma. Transparent copperish color with an off-white head. Floral flavor to start turning a little citrusy. Finishes with extremely burnt malts. Tastes like burnt popcorn with citrus grapefruit hops to finish. Way too burnt.
