Lots of straw in the aroma. Dark yellow/golden colour. Sweet, slightly alcoholic, thick. Nothing special.

Zagorka is Bulgaria’s version of an old, skunky Heineken from hell. Adjunct, skunk, pee, and faint hops round out this bottle of funk nicely until drain pour.

Bottle. Dark yellow, clingy white head. Not much discernerable aroma except for some faint skunkiness...why, oh why, do so many third-world country breweries use green bottles? Hints of rice, a little bit of hops.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pours a two-fingered white head that stays and leaves a good lace. Pale, clear golden color. Very low carbonation. Light bodied. Skunky nose - what is it with green bottles?? Flavor is lacking, boring hoppy aftertaste. Bought this since it was a new country (#57) for me. $2 for a 500ml bottle, found at Colonial Spirits in Acton, Ma.

Damn green bottles. Got a skunked one. Very light taste and aroma. Very light gold color with no head. This was awful and most of this went down the drain.

1.3 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
I had some decently-high hopes for this one. I figured, it's from Bulgaria, that's close to Czechoslovakia, right? Not many miles, but light years of quality, apparently. Clear light gold. Nose is skunky, sour, and generally unappealing. Flavor is thin, no real hops, a few mild, sweet malts. Some rather nasty chemical and medicinal tones. My taste buds have been Balkanized. Bleah.

Perfectly pale and clear, in the best bland lager tradition. Big, frothy head. Aroma:piney...lemony...um,...stinky...pissy, if you'll pardon my Bulgarian. No flavor to speak of, nothing at all to recommend it. Did I spend money on this? Must be the Miller High Life of Bulgaria.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pours a bright yellow. Aroma is skunk. Flavor is straw and corn. Not much here but I am sure this would be better at the country it was made in.

Bottle. Oh the skunky smell when thedm opened this one!! Yuck! It poured a small sized frothy white head with fine-small sized bubbles that mostly diminished. The body was carbonated and transparent with a gold hue. The nose, as previously mentioned upon opening, was skunky, malty and grassy. The flavor was somewhat sweet, acidic, malty and it had an unpleasant lingering aftertaste that caused me to get some chips to get rid of the aftertaste. The mouthfeel was fairly smooth and the lacing of this beer was fair. Definitely not recommended.
