Can. Good beer. Nice, crisp pilsener flavor. Some mild malty sweetness, notes of caramel. Light in body and well carbonated. Finish is clean, with some mild earthiness. Refreshing and tasty.

Aroma: standard skunky lager aroma; Appearance: pale straw, clear with billowy white head; some lacing; Taste: similar to water except for a slightly unpleasant twang; Palate: light bodied with medium finish; Overall: somewhat objectionable but drinkable I suppose.

16.9oz bottle 4/18/16 (Binny’s Naperville)-34° in Lager Glass-Pours a clear light golden with a small white head. Aroma of corn, malt, and sweetness. Taste of the same. This light bodied brew is just another pale lager.

A mid gold coloured beer with a frothy but weak white head. A light malty aroma with a hint of wheat. A mild dry mouthfeel. The taste is a mild slightly syrupy, malty flavour, some bitterness in the background. The finish is mild malt, and slightly syrupy. A can brought by a friend from Bulgaria.

One of Bulgaria’s best lagers! It must be tried fresh (in Bulgaria) without any conservants.

Pours from a green bottle a clear crisp straw color topped with a white head. Nose is corn cereal malts and a touch of grassy hops. Taste is sweet corn the cereal malts and a lingering after taste.

Notes of malt, corn and grass. Not very strong bitterness. Slightly over the avarege of Eastern European lagers.

Alengrin (4344) - BELGIUM - OCT 19, 2015
Bulgarian pale lager from a plastic 2 l bottle with plastic screw cap. Medium thick but not very stable, snow white, coarse, lightly lacing head over a clear orangey ’old gold’ coloured beer, darker than average for the style, with vivid sparkling. Simple aroma of sourish grains, white bread crust, wet cardboard, soaked cereals, grass, cornbread. Neutral onset, a bit minerally with medium carbo, grain sweet with a touch of old cookies and corn, smooth mouthfeel but not as thin or metallic as is often the case in this style; finish has a late, brief grassy hop bitterness but a vague plastic-like chemical wryness too. Very average at best, the sourish graininess becomes a bit bothersome in the end, certainly if you have to ingest 2 l of the stuff, but still a fairly drinkable standard lager.
