Pours clear gold with a very weak head. The aroma is hoppy but with unpleasant skunky smell. The taste is relatively bitter, but slightly off putting. Just not good.

Dull gold. Taste is relatively clean, with only a vague hint of diacetyl. Not much hop but for a hint of hop extract. Touch of heavy pale malt. Ok pivo.

Drank from bottle near Golubec. Gold...looks pretty clear actually. Smells alright in terms of low phenols but also just industiral liw grade malt Refeeshing and easy, with just a little hop extract or pellet in finish. Not bad overall.

27/02 0.5 l bottle courtesy of Marko, thanks for sharing! It poured yellow body with medium sized head. Hay aroma, A bit bitter flavor, that hay is present again, together with weaker bread malt. Thinner body, shorter hay finish. Although thin it was not offensive at all, its a decent pale lager. That would translate to boring and forgettable like all of them.

Bottled 500ml. -Courtesy of and shared with Marko (thanks!). Pale golden coloured, small airy white head, corn and cheap processed meat sausage in the nose. Weak malty, watery and metallic with hint of cardboard and harsh bitter finish. Not good.

0.5l bottle found at the ever-amazing Toplica Trade market on the banks of the Sava, where they cater to the local fishermen and boat captains. Had this new odd Zajecarsko no problem, opened it for me and had me sit on their front steps while enjoying, for 45dinars. The beer is actually ok. weak prune-grass juice, hazy corn water. funky grass. but it works in this perfect ambience of sinking ships and fog. Everything is a bit rusty or metallic, which is what we see around us. Cheap tasting, bitter finish which is ok. Not worst thing ever by any means. but does finish so Pasty and bready. And I mean subsidized serbian white bread soaked in Sava river water.. Id drink again anytime, there are interesting things in here for sure.

Bottle from an Interex store in New Belgrade, near the student dorm. Tart nose, cheap processed meat sausage, sauerkraut. Empty taste, light washed out apple, malt and metal. Light salty, sourish aftertaste, again with weak notes od green apple. Dull, almost bad. Wateriness actually saves it a little, but the mouthfeel approaches carbonated mineral water in some ways so still not good.

as (164) - Belgrade / Hamburg, - DEC 19, 2011
0,5 l bottle found at the local shop. Im not really sure if this truly is a new beer or just a rebranding of the old Zaječarsko, since theres virtually no information available on the internet and the Zaječarsko brand itself is not that widespread in Belgrade. The only major thing that differs this particular brew to the standard Zaječarsko Svetlo Pivo is the lower alcohol content and the very slightly modified label. The beer itself is clear yellow with a small head and shares the same features not only with Zaječarsko Svetlo but with practically every other Serbian lager - low malt presence, dominant citrus, herbal and cardboard aromas and an acid / metallic aftertaste. No trace of any freshness as one could assume from the name. Just like the regular Zaječarsko (provided that this truly is a different beer) could be enjoyable in the summer, not so much in December.
