COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Glutenfree beer.

Labelled as Zatec Glutenfree. Golden with small, quickly disappearing head. Light aroma of bread, a bit watery and weak. Not the typical aroma and palate. One of the dullest czech beers I have sampled; is it the lacking gluten? Bit of a shame for the Saaz (Zatec) region.

UPDATED: SEP 10, 2014 Bottle 50 CL. Pours golden with white frothy head, notes of grass, grains, butter, hay. Pretty mild stuff. Bit unpleasant and too buttery.

Bottle from Booths, Keswick. Pale golden coloured with a sweet toffee, caramel and a gentle grassy flavour followed by floral fruit on the lightly bitter finish.

Flaska från systembolaget, märkt som Zatec gluten free organic. Helt ok, men något för söt.

0,5l Flasche. Goldenes Bier, kaum Schaum. Riecht leicht malzig. Schmeckt auch so, zum Schluß etwas wäßrig.

Bottle from Systembolaget. Light smell with butterscotch and butter. Light bready taste and the butter is back again. Almost non-existant bitterness. Light body. Dry mouthfeel. Too much butter for my taste.

Golden color with small white head almost no lacing. Aroma is malty and grainy. Flavor is malt, grainy, slightly hoppy. Low carbonation and medium body with a sweet herb finish.

Review based on the BJCP2008 guidelines (style 2B). Bottle 33cl - Batch AROMA: semi-sweet aroma. some cardboard. no hop aromas. APPEARANCE: deep gold colour and very clear. somewhat thin white head with below average retention. TASTE: semi-sweet flavour that finishes dry. low bitterness. no complexity from malt or hop flavours. PALATE: medium-low body and low carbonation. OVERALL: an uninteresting, watered down, coeliac friendly beer.

Bottled 26/06/14. A golden coloured beer with a bright white head. decent flowery Saaz hopping. Malt balance is good and the body is fine. Nice.

Clear, light copper colour with no fizz but holds a decent head from the pour. Almost no aromas, at a push smelling donut-batter with the very softest hint of smoke. Pleasant mouth-feel with a gentle tingle of spice on the gums; however absolutely devoid of any flavours on palate - no hops, not even any residual cereal tones. With it’s name "Celia" it seems to be made for and marketed for Celiacs, rather than being brewed as a quality beer which happens to be gluten-free! I’m not a lager drinker, but this falls well short of my already low expectations.
