2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Head is initially large, frothy, light brown, mostly lasting.
Body is dark brown.
Aroma is moderately malty (toasted grain/nuts, caramel, husks), trace hops (herbs), with a light note of paper.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter, slightly husky.
Medium body, velvety/watery texture, lively carbonation.
Better appearance than expected...voluminous, lasting head. Aroma is kind of plain and dull, but perhaps it’s not very fresh (they were new to the store that carried it, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t sitting in the importer’s and distributor’s warehouses for a long time). Just ok.

500 ML bottle from the Good Food Store in Missoula. Pours dark ruby with a substantial tan head. Malty sweet aroma. Taste like malty brown sugar and a background hint of hops. Aftertaste is smooth enough. Drinkable but not really noteworthy. Still worth a try.
