Total Wine, Fairfax ($2.50): Pours a rather dark brown with a small head. Aroma is slightly fruity, barely roasted, and malty, Taste is malty, slightly sweet, and has a dark fruit feel to it. Really easy to drink and very well balanced. I thought this was a pretty good go.

A little biting and moments of fruit flavours make this beer unique but not spectacular

Clear, dark ruby amber with a thick, foamy head, and big streaks of lace. Big sweet caramel malt flavor with a bitter edge of a finish. Nothing complicated, just a nice full dark lager. Easy to drink, good for a long cool evening.

500 mL bottle. Pours dark brown, with a medium, creamy, off-white head. The aroma is molasses, dates, and a little red wine tannins. The flavor is very sweet, with a little bitterness. The palate is medium, syrupy and sticky. Overall, this is a malty, sticky beer. Not my favorite, but not bad.

Bottle- Pours a deep brown color with a thick head that fades to some lacing. Aroma of dark chocolate, roasted malt and some dark fruit. Taste of dark chocolate, coffee, roasted malt with a bit of dark fruit sweetness. There is a nice bitterness and a clean finish. Medium body, smooth and quite creamy. Good drinker that goes down easy. Good example of the style. Well worth checking out.

16.9 oz bottle. Dark brown/red in color and a light beige head that reduces to 1/4 inch quickly. Slightly sweet and some malt on the nose, a bit of yeast, too. The malt continues through to the palate, with some dull hops and almost a creaminess to it. All and all a pretty good beer.
