0.5l bottle bought at Bohémia Sörszalon. First of all, I am not sure whether this is really the Zatec Xantho. It is the botle shown on the picture and its label says Dark Lager Beer. No word Xantho on it. (The brewery homepage anyway says Xantho is bottled in 0.33 bottles...) Anyway, here is my verdict: Neutral aroma, very little foam that vanishes completely very soon. Quite disappointing and quite unbelievable from a Czech lager. Taste is mostly sweet, bit roasted, bit liquorice. Very simple. Moderate carbonation. Looks and tastes like a dead home-brew. Did not like it.

330ml bottle kindly shared by Per Pippin. A bubbly fawn-coloured head over a clear dark ruby coloured body. Scattered lacing. Roasted bread on the nose, semi-sweet. Taste of brown malts, moderately roasted. Backdrop of herbal hops, mid-sweet. Medium bodied. Quite alright (Shared with friends at Prestvika, Sommarřya 02.09.2016).

Poured from a 16 OZ bottle into a pint glass at the World of Beer in Columbia, SC. The appearance is a dark brown with medium sized tan colored head. The aroma is full of toasted malt. The taste is very malty and has a sweet finish.

Nice brown body with a hint of orange when held to the light. Lasting taupe head. Malt and toasted grain aromas. Hints of caramel and herbal hops. Quite sweet in the front and most of the way through. Hints of roasted malt and ash all wrapped up in caramel and toasted malt. Nice soft feel. A really good dunkel. 6/10

Tap @ Csehsörnapok 2016. Nagy csalódás ez nekem, hisz gejl édes ízével a kedvemet veszi el...

BOTTLE 33 CL. Clear dark brown, beige head. Both the aroma and the flavour have dark toasted bread, sweet bread, dusty cereals and spicy bitter finish. The mouthfeel is smooth enough - just a bit of the pungency that lagers have when they get too strong. Nothing fancy, just a decent tmavy.

Bottle at U Kunstatu, Prague. Pours a deep brown colour with a fizzy off white head. Aroma of caramel, raisins, some other dark fruits, slight toffee, a little roasted malts and subtle brown sugar. Taste of caramel, raisins, dark fruits, some toffee, slight nuts, a little brown sugar, a hint of chocolate and subtle herbal hops. Medium bodied and moderate carbonation. A short, fruity, herbal hop bitterness in the finish. A decent dunkel, sweet caramel and lots of fruit. Late hoppiness but a little short.
