0.5l bottle bought at Bohémia Sörszalon. First of all, I am not sure whether this is really the Zatec Xantho. It is the botle shown on the picture and its label says Dark Lager Beer. No word Xantho on it. (The brewery homepage anyway says Xantho is bottled in 0.33 bottles...) Anyway, here is my verdict: Neutral aroma, very little foam that vanishes completely very soon. Quite disappointing and quite unbelievable from a Czech lager. Taste is mostly sweet, bit roasted, bit liquorice. Very simple. Moderate carbonation. Looks and tastes like a dead home-brew. Did not like it.

Aroma is dark sweet malts, caramel, toffee, and molasses. Taste is creamy, toffee, and sweet malts. Finishes with a light roastiness. Appearance is a clear brown with a thin pearl head that retains fairly well.

Aroma: roasted malts, roasted caramel, roasted barley. Appearance: clear dark copper color, thin beige head. Taste: low bitterness (herbs), slightly acid, roasted dark malts, slightly sweet, caramel. Palate: medium body and high carbonation, roasted finish. Overall: Not so bad, but still a quite empty dark lager.

500 ml bottle into a pint glass. Pours black, with a big khaki head that lasts. Decent lacing. Not much on the nose. Taste is dark malt, but not a strong flavor. creamy mouth feel, with a long, somewhat sweet finish. Not bad, but not great, either. A pleasant enough session beer.

the aroma is caramel and rather light... the taste is caramel with shades of nuts, dark fruits, coffee and toffee... noticeable hoppy bitterness... sweet and dry aftertaste...

Pours to a buff head that lasts and laces. Transparent ruby black color. Slight roast and decocted malt aroma with a honey-like floral hop note. Flavor is reminiscent of molasses, coffee and toffee, with a balancing clean bitterness and hop spice. Mouthfeel is light medium. Overall an outstandingly satisfying and complex dark lager.

Bottle shared with MisoW. Cola brown color with enormous beige head. Roasted malt, coffee caramel in aroma. Taste, caramel, dark malt, coffee. Too much on sweet side for me.
