Gusjebrun tåkete med tynt beige skum. Brunt sukker, karamell og kakao. Smaker søt karamell og sjokolade og noe bitterhet i slutten.

Bottle from Asahiya. Light cherries, prune, dark brown sugar, and some boozy fumes. Light cola brown color. Moderately spicy roast malt initial, with some decided juniper edges and herbal medicine / alc. warmth rises quickly, along light tea, honey, and hard candy / finishes with a jolt of sweetness and then levels out into a light dusting of sugar. Medium body. Tasty, complex stuff that offers itself up slowly and slyly.

Dark liquid, average sized dark head. Rich and very complex aroma: smooth honey, clove, raisins, sugar. Medium body, medium carbonation, very nice sweet finish. Taste is sweet, with hone, yeasts, licorice, smooth caramel and roasted sugar.

ShivanDragon (1534) - Leeuwarden, NETHERLANDS - MAR 4, 2014

Truly a remarkable beer!!!! But then again not!!! Buyin a bottle is just as crazy as buying a bottle of Helleketetel. I have been to that café, more then once, and yes it is that cozy and warm as you might expect! But drinking this beer will give you that experience, even at home! Godly is all I have to say. Underrated, is the second thing I have to say! Balanced with lots of herbs. Complex but very enjoyable. It takes some time to define this beer is all I know. Hoppy, earthy, with a lot of caramels and ofcorse resins, who cares a shit. One of the best beers I have ever drunk, and one of the most surprising ones ever! With bananas and stewed porks and roasted aborigionals. ? If I see the taste palletes for most of the beers here they resemble each other quite well. Define your own taste. I have had the pleasure, after drinking another beers from this brewery, but I so freaking much liked this one!!!! What else do you want to know, that there was hop in it? Malty, but mediocre, but champagne like with herbs? A stuffed animal with golden wings and butterscotch, with breasts from cough drop? C’mon! This beer was a mix from all of that, and even more. For me it easily resembles the Trappist beer format we know, O and I have another surprise for you, you chocolate and peach lovers! :D Or Daffodils, cheese, rotten eggs lovers,, whatever you like! :D Drinking a Westvleteren now, and wishing it was a Zotte Bie!!!! I have found another remarkable beer that is truly commercial. :D Bought it at the Biergrens in Belgium, in Holland... Long story...

Lively carbonation, giving a good, long lasting head. This might have dampened the aroma I was getting, which was mainly roasted malt. The flavour is great, the malt and spice give way to a smooth honey flavour at the end. The carbonation, and the spicy first taste make it very drinkable for a high abv. Interesting beer.

Bit better than the usual honey beers, thanks to the spices and different malts. Still a little sweet though.

330 ml bottle at home - taken from nites 18/03/2012. Pours deep brown with a medium light beige head. Intense malt nose with honey, raisins and some sublte clove smell. Medium body with a tad too much sweetness. Aromas of dried and jammy forest fruits, caramel, malts. Quite good.

Dark pour with hardly any head. Aroma and taste of sweet sugercane and many roasted spices. Bit too sweet to my liking but enjoyable.
