Pours a small frothy light brown head that mostly diminished. Body is black, sparkles are visible. Aroma contains roasted malts, citrus fruits, dough, sweet fruits like grape, raisin and plum, pear, cherry, cassis, tawny port, brown sugar and spices. Flavor starts off light acidic, to be followed by sweetness and faint bitterness. Body is medium with creamy texture and soft carbonation. Not very special but very enjoyable anyway.

Surprisingly good Belgian strong considering how amateur the label makes it appear. Rich flavor. Strong presence of dark fruit, some cane sugar. Medium body.

Bottle. My first beer from Brouwerij de Bie. Color is a very dark brown, not much of a head. Aroma is malty and sugary. Very nice. Flavor is sweet, some spices (donít know what). A wee bit watery (just slightly!). Overall a pretty nice beer.

0.33l bottle kindly provided by BelgBeerGeek. Thanks man! Slowly gushing out of the bottle, and in the glass this is a deep brown one with a lasting medium sized beige head. It smells rich and sweet with caramel, cocoa powder, yeast and some dried concentrated glazed fruits. Nice stuff! Itís average to lively carbonated with a mild oily to watery texture. The bottle is from 2008, and it might be a bit past itís peak. Kinda oxidized with sweet flavors, more cocoa powder, light yeasty and fruity as well with a tone of chocolate and honey in the finish. Actually a really tasty one this, but as mentioned, think it perhaps could be past itís prime. 30.06.2012
