4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Great label, thou that has almost nothing to do with beer. The liquid is dark, very dark. Almost like stout. Head does not impress. Smell is malty, sweet and alcoholic. Huh, first taste is strong in alcohol. There is plenty of malts, and outcome is chocolaty beer with herbal side taste. There perhaps some banana & bubblegum as well. Body is full, texture is thick with average carbonation and finish is long, but not the longest ever. I’d say this is strange stout or strange belgium ale, which make this interesting.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle 33 cl, gushes when opening. Pours a pitch black with a huge but quickly fading dark grey head and an aroma of sweet and roasted malts, syrup, caramel and overripe fruits. The taste is dominated by sweet malts, caramel and roast. There’s also notes of honey, toffee, ripe fruits and some spices. A nice beer, but not much more than that.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Really black body and a tan head. Tutti frutti, white chocolate, cookie dough. Quite nice although a bit candy-like and not very powerful. Taste starts a bit watery but more pronounced maltyness later. Aftetaste is actually a bit dry. Strange, as if is beer wants to change character constantly. Unfortunately it becomes a bit of a mess I think. (33cl bottle)

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Dark, dark brown pour. I cannot see any light through it at all. Decently sized, medium tan head that leaves some lacing behind as it slowly dwindles. A big spicy, yeasty aroma. It’s like peppers and some cloves. Creamy mouthfeel. A slight metallic taste, and definitely stays behind a while. Roasty. Sweet malty flavor. A slight warming from the alcohol. Not sure I like the bitter metallic aftertaste, but it doesn’t detract too much from the taste, and ejoyment.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
750 ml bottle shared at PPRBSG 2010. Pours cloudy dull copper with a thinning head- some particulates as well. Aroma is cardboard, old stale oxidized malts, solvent, lettuce, herbs and veges. Flavor is corked to hell, chemical, old stale hops and malt, lame phenolics, plastic, and some artificial sweeteners, chlorine and poolwater with some mildew and cork in the end. Blech.
