Roggen in German means Rye so this means RyeRye. Roggenbier is a unique German style that uses Hefe Weizen yeast, but replaces the Wheat (Weizen) with Rye (Roggen). The unique Banan, Clove, Vanilla flavors of Weizen still apply with the addition of herbal backbone, reminiscent of Rye bread. Cloudy in completion, mildly hopped. Unlike Rye IPAs, this beer has plenty of Ry character.

Pours a murky brown. Aroma is a roasted nutty smell. Nice yeasty rye flavor with a great balance. Nice to see someone focused on German beers. Well done!

Growler sample on 4GA brew day shared by one of the other GAs while we brewed "Fuck You Reinheitsgebot". Clear brown pour with a medium beige head. Aroma of banana, clove, caramel and spiciness. Malty and caramelly flavor with banana and spicy rye before a dry finish.
