Draft at Arch City Tavern, served in a flight. Pours a hazy goldenrod color with a small white head that settles into a ring. It’s got the basic banana-clove-wheat combo, with sweet cereal and dough, vanilla, and residual sugars that are a bit too sweet for the style and my liking. They’re stronger in the aroma, too. Light-medium bodied, with a muddled, sweet mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Not bad but needs some dialing in.

Small patches of lacing. Aroma of wheat, fruit and malt. Light to medium body with flavors of wheat, banana and biscuit malt. The finish is sweet with a wheaty aftertaste. Decent overall.

5oz on tap at the brewery. Totally hazy golden orange color. Thin ring of khaki head. Leaves decent ropes of lace. Medium body. Smooth, kind of crisp / soft, light to moderate carbonation. Slick finish. Kind of a musty citrus aroma. Sweet wheat flavor. Sweet taste, light tart in the finish, lightly spicy. Some slightly artificial-tasting candy banana flavor, mild spice. An OK hefeweizen, for me. Kind of sugary sweet taste to it.

Sample at the tasting room on 9/20/13. Cloudy yellow pour with a thick white head. Aroma of banana, clove and creamy wheat. Flavor is about the same, banana, clove, creamy wheat finish. Straight up hefe. Not my style, but I can say it’s well done for the style.

Draft sample at CMF 2012. Poured hazy orange color with an average fizzy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate banana, clove and citrus aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a spice sweet finish of moderate duration. Good refreshing brew.
