I believe this beer has been forcibly retired by virtue of the closing (forever) of the damaged brewery. Don’t know the ABV on this one, but the alcohol seemed pretty prominent...some bourbon notes and caramel sweetness...but generally unimpressive.

Although cautioned away from this at FoBAB ’05, I had to try it because 1) I like barleywine and 2) it’s nice to taste a Louisiana beer here in the Chicago area other than from Dixie or Abita. Unfortunately, it wasn’t all that great, the spirits outweighing the brew. The warming alcohol was a plus, but not enough to win me over.
