3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, shared by me... in my dining room... just now.
Pours a nice golden color with tons of tiny bubbles rising from the bottom of the glass, so many so that they seem to be allowing for some head retention on this cider, odd... but cool nevertheless.
The aroma is certainly apple forward but only lightly sweet. It’s a touch on the funky side with some nice wet limestone.
The flavor is really decidedly dry, far moreso than the aroma ever let on. It’s nicely tart & features bitter apples quite well. There is some apple skin and some nice minerallity. Honestly it does a wonderful job of ticking off things that I love in cider, although it falls a touch short of being mind blowing, I can’t put my finger on it... but it skips over the sort of "depth" of flavor that I love about Scrumpy or Norman Ciders... but that’s not to say that it’s not very very good.
The mouthfeel is like a very lively champagne, prickly on the tongue quick at the start and long in the finish.

Quite a funky cider. Little bit perfumed and cloudy on the pour. Quite dry on the finish which lingers.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
500mL bottle. Poured clear with a light rust colour. Rich nose with an almost tropical nose, mixed with a slight grassy note. Weight comes through the tannins on the palate which moves to a focused, dry finish. Could enjoy many more of these over the summer months.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
750ml bottle. Pours a clear medium gold, with long-lasting effervescence. Sharp tannic apple, citrus, mild leather and a touch of mild Swiss cheese make up the aroma. Sharp, tart apple skin up front is moderated by a touch of sweetness. Dusty, leathery tannins lead into some more fruity apple in the mid-palate, with a clean apple finish. It’s refreshing to find a new world cider made with proper cider apples. Whilst this is not the most complex cider I have had, its tart/sweet balance puts it streets ahead of the countless commercial lolly water ciders.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours clear golden with a small white hue on top. Nose alludes to a sweet cider with a touch of tart and funk. Some hay there also. Comes across a lot drier than expected in the taste. Some dry hay, grass, underlying lemon biscuit. Spritzy carbonation with a long dry finish but sweetness in between. Odd cider but works very nicely

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Rich deep golden colour. Smells of tropical fruit with a hint of straw. Full bodied with very well balanced acidity and tannins. One of my top ciders

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pale straw colour with full carbonation. Golden honey, stewed apples and juicy (if something can smell juicy, then this can). Fulsome mouthfeel with plenty of on-going tingle all the way to the back of the throat. Good golden loveliness and a definite tartness in a layer underneath. Lip-smacking, not terribly sweet, but not dehydratingly dry.
I do like this.
