Prauge-07. Intense almond nose with cherry notes. Taste of sour cherries with more wine than beer character.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 17/20
[bottle from Galerie Pivni]
Hazy strawberry-amber with virtually no fizz. Barleywine-like aroma of grainy malt with lots of black cherries and a touch of hops. The flavour with perfumey melanoidiny malt ending in a nice black cherry and nettles and orange and faint mint. This beer also tasted a bit alcoholic--more than 5.2% abv. Sweet and a bit oxidized with some herbal bitterness. Light to medium body with no carbonation to speak of. This beer would be even better with more carbonation.

UPDATED: APR 15, 2006 Dark red colour. Not terribly firm white head that quickly dissolves. A powerful scent of raspberries and cherries. Taste is sweet and cherry-like. Limited aftertaste. Nice as an aperitif

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Dark-red amber beer; very slightly pinkish tinted head. Nose fully reminiscent of parsley - is this a CHERRY beer? Saponines? Very faraway fruit taste, indeed cherry, but I get parsley again. And I’m not dreaming nor stone-drunk, as diabel is tasting with me and confirms my impression. In fact, rather than cherry, I’d say cherry flavoured cherry gums. Light, with a slight syrupy slickness. Surprising; let’s give it the advantage of a first try in a country that isn’t used to experiment with beer...

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Redish in colour. Rubber and cherry nose. Maybe almond as well. Flavour is chemical(burnt rubber) and a little almond. The cherry in the bottle looked like an overboiled chick pea.
