Clear medium yellow orange color with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, grain, toasted, malty, soil turned - damp stained, fruity, earthy. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate damp stained - fruity fresh bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20090705]

Bottled. Yellowish golden colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is hay, malts and some hops. Flavour is hay, grass, earth and some dryish hops. Pleasant pils, which leaves a quite dry palate.

Draught att he brewpub. Lightly hazy golden, rich firm head. Minerally nose. Dryish with light body and rounded mouthfeel. A strong iron flavour tips over into resiny bitterness and blood.

Draught at the brewpub. Clear golden colour. Big stable white head. The flavour starts off with a hint of smoke. Quite mild, but nice enough. There seems to be a hint of bread or perhaps barnyard, but that might just be the smoke. The landlord says there is no smoke malt in there, though.

Bottled (BB 02/2008)
Golden color, small white hea, lace. Hayish hoppy aroma. Woody hoppy, a bit butter flavor. Nice bitterness with some sweet notes. Balanced, enjoyable pils.

UPDATED: JUN 2, 2005 Brewery tap. Hoppy, soapy aroma. Malty hoppy flavor with a distinct barnyard character. Long hopbitter aftertaste. Another rural beer you’ll never find in industrial breweries, but mainly in rural Franconian Brauerei-Gasthäuser. Bottle. Golden color, frothy head. Malt and hay in the aroma. Hoppy and herbal flavor. Hints of vanilla. Long bitter aftertaste with even a hint of smoke.

Herber Hopfenantrunk, wobei der Hopfen ab dem Mittelteil aromatische Noten verstreut, eine deutliche Bitterkeit ist immer dabei. Vollmundig, sehr harmonisch, zum Ende auch würziger. Nett!

On tap at the brewpub: Golden coloured, mid-sized, quite stable white head with a good lace; delicate hoppy nose with a faint illusion of pale malt; quite dry, solid bitter flavour, light-bodied, grainy-bitter finish. Not bad, pleasant to drink...........

(bottle) Clear, pale golden colour with a nice visible carbonation and a big and dense foamy white head. Herbal and moderately grassy hops aroma with a slightly malty sweetness and a touch of acidity. Bitter flavour, herbal hoppy taste with a soft but balancing pale malt character; dry and hop bitter finish. Quaffable Pilsener.

(Bottled) Pale yellow with a smallish head. Aroma of mushrooms and grassy-herby hops. Quite grassy-hoppy, moderately acidic flavor with hints of buttery toffee. Medium-bodied, quite carbonated palate. A drinkable and clean, grassy pils. Nothing memorable, though.
