Bottle, 75cl PET. It pours a dark brown body, lightly unclear, and with a small, dense, beige head. The aroma is quite malty, with caramel, tofffee, some coffee and a touch of dried fruits. The flavor is much the same, more focus on toffee and coffee, with a licorice touch. It’s quite dry on the palate, with a nice carbonation level. Full body. Lasting roasted finish with a licorice accent. Quite decent this one, but too much toffee I think. 150228

27/6/14: Enjoyed trying this at Silenus Bar aka Bill’s Bar at Paliokatouna, Nidri, on the island of Lefkas, high above Vlicho Bay, thanks to Phil for driving us up there. Bill collects his beer supplies direct from the Brewery over on the Peloponnese, a long day in the van for him. On draft, at the bar, this was a clear very dark ruddy ale with an off-white somewhat fluffy head. Aroma, toasted malts and wheat. Taste, a mild toasted malts, a touch of liquorice, a clean finish, nice hops at the end. A rather pleasant surprise find to enjoy in a summer evening in the hills of a Greek island.

Not a traditional schwarzbier. Easy to drink but with a lot carbonate. The foam is very slim but with not very clear taste. Passable option.

Very nice black beer once again from the brewers in Argos. Roasted malt taste, nice color, dark foam, but i got the feeling sometimes this beer (been drinking it several times in years) changes taste a little bit at every ’batch’ of production. Still, it’s an excellent beer, would love to try it on tap somewhere. I’m happy we have Zeos in Greece.
