3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
330ml bottle, house beer at Afspanning ‘t Waagstuk. Pours a clear, dark brown body with ruby highlights, hazy last pour. Decent beige head, reduced to a patchy surface. Smell of dark malts with yeasty fruitiness beneath. Lots of dried fruits in flavour together with brown malts. Bittersweet alcohol to the ending. Oily palate. Well made, and pleasing despite of all the sweetness (Antwerpen, 28.04.2011).

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
bottle@Waagstuk: bit sweet with a deep, full dark malt taste which is followed by ripe dark fruits (emphasis on figs) which blossoms with a slight dark chocolate finish, hint of toffee, worth getting if you are in ‘t Waagstuk which is the only place where you can get this if I am not mistaken, if you look only at the black of the drawing on the bottle from a distance, it kind of looks like an eel

Bottle. [thank you, Skou]
Pours clear amber with a small, creamy and slightly frothy off-white head. Aroma has liqourice, is vinious, yeast and sweet caramel. Very well balanced. Lightish mouthfeel, but still kind of oily. Flavour is sweet, liqourice, ginger, vinious and a dry, flowery finish. Nice.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at ’t Waagstuk.
Hazy dark amber with a creamy off-white head. Plum jam, cocoa, vanilla, banana and sweet worty malts in the aroma. Very nice and complex. Full, almost sticky body showing a more one-dimensional scotch/plum/vanilla flavour. Some chocolate and alcohol start to come though in the finish... and also the flavour as it warms. I almost prefer it a bit more chilled than you’d normally want a strong ale. Great stuff anyway.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled. A dark brown beer with a medium dark tan head. The aroma is very sweet and very complex with notes of fruit, prunes, chocolate, wood, balsamico, and spices. The flavor is very sweet and again very complex with notes of caramel, dark fruits, leaning towards being over ripe, combines with notes of prunes, chocolate, yeast, wood, and spices, before the alcohol comes along and dominated for a while before a dry slightly bitter alcohol, fruity, and quite spicy finish sets in. The alcohol leaves a slight burn in the throat. Nice.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle at ’t Waagstuk, Antwerp. I vaguely remember this beer as the night got a bit messy from here on out, although I do remember liking it. Mahogany with a thick beige head. Malt, dark fruits, liquorice and a hint of cocoa with that brunish earthy note. A great beer with lots going on.

Ruby red color, good beige head. Wood, paper and subdued licoric in the aroma. Sweetish with grassy hops, licorice and cream fudge. Someway also fruity but alcoholic.
