Bottled. A dark brown beer with a medium dark tan head. The aroma is very sweet and very complex with notes of fruit, prunes, chocolate, wood, balsamico, and spices. The flavor is very sweet and again very complex with notes of caramel, dark fruits, leaning towards being over ripe, combines with notes of prunes, chocolate, yeast, wood, and spices, before the alcohol comes along and dominated for a while before a dry slightly bitter alcohol, fruity, and quite spicy finish sets in. The alcohol leaves a slight burn in the throat. Nice.

33cl Bottle. Brewed 08/07. Trade with HenrikB. Pours dark ruby amber with a small creamy white head and lacings. Nose is dark fruit, caramel and molasses and a vague oxidation underneath. Vinous flavor - dark fruit, liquorice , caramel and a clearer note of cellar. Smooth and full bodied. Probably really good when fresh!

Bottle at t’Waagstak in Antwerp. First beer of the day in this excellent bar in the corner of a square in Antwerp. Very dark reddish brown colour with thick beige head. Intense bruin aroma, some dark fruit. Blackberry/currants, dark choc and dark cherry. More dark fruit in mouth leading to a dry finish. Big on fruits, but enough malt structure to carry it off. I really like this
