On Tap at Flatbread in Burlington. Copper pour with a medium sized dense head. Aroma and flavor are marked by pine, lemon grass, and a touch of white grapefruit. Really solid hop character with a touch of balancing caramel malt. Medium body, good carbonation, good stuff.

My Bottom Line:
Oranges and resins blend into caramel malts in this muscular Double IPA.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slice of foam tops the misty amber.
-The mouthfeel is a tad heavier than what I like in the style.
-All flavors are luminous and harmonious. Maybe too much caramel, but that hop onslaught did need some back-up to avoid falling into exaggeration.
-The resinous bitterness was levelled with the rest of the brew’s high intensity.
-Although this was impeccable, I can’t say it was all that memorable within the style. A successful, textbook example

On tap at Benelux.

(Rating #3646)

UPDATED: JAN 5, 2012 Had this with my flatbread in Burlington. Poured Dark Amber with a thin tan head. Big aroma of Grapefruit, lemon and orange rinds, Flavor was Hops - Piney, Citrusy, with a sweet malt backbone. Medium Body, just the right amount of carbonation here. If this were available where I live it would be my go to IPA. Made waiting 30 minutes for our table go by quite nicely!

Very well done. Dark orange pour, thin white head. Big malty backbone, lots of pine hop flavor, semi-dry, bitter finish.
