Zero Gravity Bob White

Verre de dégustation chez American Flatbread (Burlington, VT). Arôme: Odeur de citron et de clous de girofle. Apparence: La couleur est dorée avec une faible densité de bulle. Présence d’un mince col mousseux et d’une fine dentelle sur le verre. Saveur: Goût d’agrumes et d’épices. Durée moyenne de l’arrière goût. Palette: Le corps est moyen avec une texture légèrement minérale. Moyenne effervescence en bouche. Présence de zeste d’orange en arrière goût. (Rating #680)

On draught at American Flatbread. Pours gold with a white head. Smells of coriander, cloves, oranges, and lemons. Tastes sugary with some orangey hints. More of an American wheat, than a witbier, but still very quaffable.

Someone brought this witbier in a growler to HWOH. Pours a cloudy yellow with a nice pure white fluffy head. Aroma is coriander, wheat, orangepeel, and light pepper. Has a smooth wheaty taste with a phenolic peppery and clove flavor and finishes with a nice clean bitterness. Pretty solid wit.

Draught pint at the brewpub, served interestingly enough in an Allagash glass. A lasting small snowy head sits atop the opaque amber-gold body, offering faint lacing as the glass empties....lemon-orange citric acids are delightfully complemented by subtle vanilla and nicely restrained coriander, with ginger making inroads as it warms....sweet overtones on the tongue with plenty of spicy yeast; sourness grows and wheaty character increases....faint metallic qualities enter at the finish....full body, lively carbonation, a bit much in the acidity department.

4 ounce sample on tap at the brewpub. Some banana hints in the nose with fair amounts of coriander as well. Very spiced, peppery, and aromatic. Moderately hazy straw color with small whitish head and decent lacing. Milky flavor, that is kind of flat with a fair amount of grassy hops present. Mild dry noble-like hops in the finish. Lacks the expected banana/coriander/clove flavors that were in the nose. Disappointing.
