Our single-hopped Wheat IPA. This beer was launched as part of our I.P.April– a month long celebration of hoppy brews–and we decided to brew it with a different hop each year. Until we brewed it with Citra and then, well, we never turned back. Completely satisfyingly awesome in its crispiness and over-all well-rounded hopaliciousness. This beer might just be your Rushmore. 13.6°

Tap at ZG. Crisp, refreshing, and light hoppiness with wheat finish. Tasty and very drinkable. Can throw down a few of these with ease. Pairs well with their flatbread pizza. Give this a try!

From growler

Aroma: Loads of citrus hops, tangerines

Appearance: Hazy from wheat, orange/golden, white head

Taste: Medium bitterness, inline with IPAs

Palate: Light bodied, but maybe wheat makes it probably more medium, long bitter/citra finish

Overall: I’ve had this several times before. I picked up a growler for sampling prior to doing a homebrew clone challenge. For the last couple of years, I’ve developed a somewhat aversion to Citra hops. A few years ago, I was homebrewing tons of Citra IPAs, but then something changed in my palate and I can pick out Citra hops even when mixed with dozens of other hops. This is the only Citra based beer that I can currently drink without having that weird reaction to the hops. Loads and loads of citra hops. I think the wheat malt pairs well with citra and balances out whatever aversion I have to the taste.

My Bottom Line:
Sandy hop resins and their citrusy accents thrive within this slender Wheat IPA.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam sits atop the clear dark gold.
-Drinkability is quite high.
-Resinous bitterness is not shy at all.
-Wheat tags along nicely with the chosen New World hops’ fruitiness.

On tap at American Flatbread Burlington.

Thanks to Adrian. On draft at the Threepenny in Montpelier. Lots of green, herbal, dusty hops characterize this. Excellent aroma. Some lemon. The support is a little thin, probably due to it being a wheat-based brew.
