3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A hazed blonde IPA with a thick collapsing lacing off white head. In aroma, nice piney and grassy hops, a bit of bubblegum, citrus notes, very nice. In mouth, a nice smooth wheat malt with piney hops, grapefruit pulp, creamy, nice. On tap at American Flatbread Burlington, April 7 2012.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap at the Blind Tiger. Cloudy yellow beer, thick white head. The palest IPA I’ve ever seen. The aroma is totally unique. Very lemony and herbal with a lot of soft perfumey hops and fresh wheaty zestiness. Flavour is light and fresh, with good interplay of spicy wheat and very flowery/perfumey hoppiness. Light perfume and cologne with a lingering lemon peel character on the back. Body is quite light which keeps it refreshing. I’d love to see this one back in the summer... I’d drink lots of it.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at the brewpub. A cross style as IPA flavour contributing to a regular wheat. The sourness of the wheat is there and the hops comes through with malt sweetness finishing up to make it drinkable. Lots of dot lace. Carbonation understated to be unobtrusive.

2013-04-29. Lightly hazy orange body, nice white head and lace. Modest hoppy aroma, pleasant notes of tangerines and lemon
Flavour is similar, pleasant melange of citrus, orange, tangerine and lemon, with pithy notes particularly in the finish. Modest bitterness throughout. 7++ Average bodied palate, nice carbonation, suits it. Quite enjoyable. On tap at American Flatbread, Burlington

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sampled on tap at the brewpub on 9/17/07: Pours a hazy copper bronze with a pillowy full-lacing light tan head. Aroma of fresh grapefruity citrusy and piny hops with good mild pale malt and sweet wheat. Body starts fairly full with good balance of sticky lightly caramel malt and resiny grapefruity bittering and flavoring hops.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at American Flatbread. Pours a hazy almost milky yellow gold with a medium large white head. Soft wheat, a little bit of citrus and pine, not as much of a hop profile as I was expecting from the description, and especially after the big grassy IPA earlier. Medium bodied, hops come through here a little more, some nice juicy hop flavors, earthy over wheat. Finishes with a slowly developing soft bitterness. Pretty good.

UPDATED: FEB 11, 2008 Hazy orange pour, good-looking and covered by a lasting off-white cover. Lemony, juicy nose where the wheat is subtle and mostly acts as a softener for the citric, brightly coming out hops: floral, leafy, lemony. Juicy on the tongue, firm growing sheets of bitterness. Orangey and tea-like palate. Tangy and crisp finish fed by a solid, bright-bubbled carbonation. Good stuff. I’ve also tried a version (feb 08) dry-hopped with centennial. It was brilliantly done. The centennial being the great hop that it is, it was bursting with juicy orange character and floral aromatics. Very, very cloudy as well, perhaps paler than I remembered. I’d give this 8/4/7/3/15=3.7

2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
In short: A hoppy/grassy wheat beer with a iodisation problem. Bad keg?
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Cloudy dark yellow body topped by a medium white head with good retention
In long: Nose is tropical fruits with pineapples and bananas coming with out on top, dried grass, and a strange iodised salt spiciness, pure iodine smell here?!? Taste has some bananas, some wheat, mild acidity, sundried yellowed grass, some other stuff. But again is it is this strong iodine-like spiciness that screwed things up and to top it off the beer was totally over-carbonated which added acidity and increased the iodised salt sensation. There was obviously something wrong with my glass or the entire batch. Zero Gravity is not the greatest brewpub on earth but it is unlike them to screw something up like this, my glass should not have been served. I can really see myself one day murdering someone who serves me a bad beer like that, does that make me a psychic or a psychotic?

(Rating #2355)
