4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 muzzlehatch (4425) - Burlington, Vermont, USA - AUG 16, 2006
Draught pints (many over the past month) at the brewpub. OK so this is an attempt at a cross between a hefe and an IPA I guess...or something. Doesn’t really matter what ya call it if it turns out well, so here goes: pours a faintly hazy light gold with a moderate lasting creamy white head and very thick lacing coating the glass all the way down (there’s the hefe)....the aroma is hugely, I mean hugely fruity, with lots of PNW citric hops dominating, but also softer notes of sweet apple, banana, and a touch of sourdough....the body is fruity-sweet with that sour wheat malt making a nice subtle backdrop, grapefruit and bitter orange strong with faint touches of alcohol....super-juicy but never cloying or sticky mouthfeel, perfect moderate-to-high carbonation....somewhat hard, mineralic finish; crisp. I could drink this all day. Experiment: successful.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 notalush (4173) - Denver, Colorado, USA - MAR 26, 2008
Tap at Blind Tiger - I was a big fan of this one - very cloudy golden beer - nothing particularly wheaty about the aroma - it’s mostly floral, with some mild fruity sweetness, some soft earthy notes - very light and refreshing, with notes of citrus that play off the moderate hop profile and lightly tart wheat flavor really well - there are some earthy, spicy, and floral qualities that make the beer taste almost like a saison - very tasty - I would love have a pitcher of this on a hot day.

On draft at Flatbread, Burlington. Poured a hazy gold with fizzy white head. Good head retention that left splotches of lace. Nose was complex with both a citrus and bready yeast component. Oranges, lemons, grapefruits with a wheaty backbone. Very easy drinking.

Good hops, citrus, pine abound. Solid malted wheat character. Good carb, solid mouthfeel. Soft wheat, pine finish. Medium bitterness with a trailing citrus aftertaste. Super refreshing.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 golubj (1377) - San Mateo, California, USA - MAR 26, 2008
Draft at the Blind Tiger. Hazy light yellow / gold pour. Aroma is honey, floral hops, and grain. The flavor has a bit of honey sweetness with floral / earthy hops and a small amount of fruity bitterness in the end. A light and refreshing IPA, different from most and I liked the sweetness up front as well.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 CaptainCougar (7093) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - NOV 19, 2007
Sampled on tap at the brewpub on 9/17/07: Pours a hazy copper bronze with a pillowy full-lacing light tan head. Aroma of fresh grapefruity citrusy and piny hops with good mild pale malt and sweet wheat. Body starts fairly full with good balance of sticky lightly caramel malt and resiny grapefruity bittering and flavoring hops.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 goldtwins (4320) - Nesconset, New York, USA - APR 7, 2008
Tap @ Blind Tiger. Poured a hazed yellow color with a white head. Big hop forward aroma with pine and some citrus. The aroma also had some grainy notes. Citrus and lemon flavor. Light grain. Semi-dry and moderately bitter finish. Light to medium bodied. The shame is this is a nice beer that would be much beer without the graininess.

Tap at the Blind Tiger. Cloudy yellow beer, thick white head. The palest IPA I’ve ever seen. The aroma is totally unique. Very lemony and herbal with a lot of soft perfumey hops and fresh wheaty zestiness. Flavour is light and fresh, with good interplay of spicy wheat and very flowery/perfumey hoppiness. Light perfume and cologne with a lingering lemon peel character on the back. Body is quite light which keeps it refreshing. I’d love to see this one back in the summer... I’d drink lots of it.

2013-04-29. Lightly hazy orange body, nice white head and lace. Modest hoppy aroma, pleasant notes of tangerines and lemon
Flavour is similar, pleasant melange of citrus, orange, tangerine and lemon, with pithy notes particularly in the finish. Modest bitterness throughout. 7++ Average bodied palate, nice carbonation, suits it. Quite enjoyable. On tap at American Flatbread, Burlington
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 hophead75 (2008) - Largo, Florida, USA - MAR 27, 2008
On tap at the Blind Tiger. Hazy golden in color, with a small to medium off white head. Almost looks like a hefeweizen or belgian blonde. Aroma: Light to moderate citrus with light grapefruit, and floral touches- some pale malt sweetness and light wheat in the background. Taste is lightly sweet with some pale malt/honey and some light wheat and a moderate amount of citrus and floral hops. Bittering is light in the finish for the style, but enough to balance- which it did quite well. A nice, well balanced fairly reserved IPA with a twist. I agree with Brandon that this would be a great on a hot day.
