josarah (48), Hinesburg, Vermont, USA May 17, 2008 Draft at Flatbread, Minimal head with a deep brown color. malty and appropriately carbonated. A bit on the thin side, but paired well with the blue cheese laden salad. Sammy (2959), Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 16, 2008 Black with excellent head. Enjoyed at the brewpub. SLightly malty aroma. Taste ius maty, on the chocolate malty side, a bit too astringent. Yet not bad effort. muzzlehatch (4424), Burlington, Vermont, USA Jul 21, 2007 Draught pint at the brewpub, July 3 2007. Dark, dark brown with a faint ring of head, translucent/dirty texture....dark malts forward in the aroma, light grapiness, a bit worty....the body is really grapy, worty, unfermented and watery; this really needed more lagering time, no question, or there’s something really wrong....dry and rather sour finish....with some warmth, a bit of chocolaty roast shows up and there’s a bit of improvement, but on the whole this is a failure, at least at the moment. A couple more weeks and who knows? But it wasn’t ready when I tried it. Glouglouburp (1872), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Jul 10, 2007 Dark brown body with a very small beige head. Grapes, raisins, more grapes and the more raisins. Dry bready malts with a very light roastiness flavour that plays second violin to the light fruity taste. Hints of chocolate if you try very hard. Overall dry feeling (yeast?). No hops noticeable. Body is light but not watery and the carbonation is aggressive, maybe too much so. Not at all flavourful. Boring. Mr Bland.
