From tap at the brewpub. Pours clear and golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma is grassy and slight hayish. Dry hoppy. Bitter and slight grassy.

on tap-pours a white head and yellow color. Aroma is lemon, barn. Taste is lemon, barn/sweet grain, spice hops. Good effervescence.

A golden lager with a thin white head. Typical German mineral malt aroma, lightly herbaceous. In mouth, a crisp malt with mineral notes, classy. Medium bodied. On tap at brewpub, July 20, 2008, shared with Muzzlehatch.

UPDATED: OCT 8, 2012 My Bottom Line:
This Helles focuses on its slender honeyed pils malts, peppery hops and perfect lagering to achieve a crisp mouthfeel and irrefutable pleasure.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam circles the clear golden.
-Cereals return in the simple finish.
-Peppery hops are well balanced with the pils malt profile.
-The prickly carbonation feels forced. I like my Helles with softer, fluffier carbonation.

Objectively speaking: A highly refreshing lager of great balance.
I like: Very fresh character encompasses all the ingredients. Pleasant whispering hops, but mostly delicious pils malt with a certain sweetness that reminds of honey and vanilla. Tight and efficient, cleansing carbonation. Very clean.
I dislike: Almost headless. Quickly fading carbonation. Could dry out a bit more.

UPDATED: MAR 28, 2011 In short: A clean, full bodied and well balanced blonde lager. Very nice session beer.

The look: Clear blonde body topped by a small white head
In long: true lager nose that I never can put into words (just that fruitless lager esters) with herbal hops notes. Taste proposes a rich creamy bed of pale malts, a bit doughy, light notes of apples and apricots, egg-white (I often get that from lagers) with a nice amount of herbal hops with a mild bitterness. This have improved that beer a lot since the last time I had it some years ago. This beer is nourishing and easy to drink. Just what I’m looking for in a Helles. Unfortunately in America this style that is to beer what adult-soft-rock is to music.

Draft. Pours a pale golden body with a white head. Grainy with mild apple like fruit tones, absolutely reminds me of coors light. Very thin, dank wet malt mildew like flavors, grain y and bitter. Very weak and thin, not a fan.

Pinte d’un fût prise au American Flatbread de Burlington. Arôme: Odeur de malt. Apparence: La couleur est blonde avec une moyenne densité de bulle. Présence d’aucun col mais avec fine dentelle sur le verre. Saveur: Léger goût d’agrumes. Aucun arrière goût. Palette: Le corps et la texture sont mince. L’effervescence en bouche est faible. Pint (actually, several) on draught at the brewpub. Darkish gold, unfiltered and slightly chunky, with a lasting small to moderate snowy cap...aroma bursting with freshness, earthy fresh loamy/clay tones and undercurrents of vanilla and rosemary, delightful...body follows strongly, hugely drinkable despite the rather full weight for the style, more earthy goodness, moderately sweet/dry throughout. Almost as good as the pils from the same brewer.

(Draught) Sampled at American Flatbread on April 134, 2006. Pours Thin, white head a top a cloudy copper body. Nose of bready malts. Flavour is oily, straw, mildly hoppy and undertones of spice. Yeasty finish. Good.
