In short: A sweet, oily, very fruity and very bitter Black IPA. Fun beer even if a little too much for its own good
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Dark ruby-mahogany body
In long: Intense nose of floral, citrusy and resinous hops. This beer is definitely uber-dry-hopped and a little something screamed citra hops in the aroma. Taste has lots of ripe dark fruits with cake-like malts. Low roasted level. It’s like a oily fruit cake. Aggressive hopping with a biting fruity and resinous bitterness. Body is very oily and sticky. This is a very tasty beer that I should have found well balanced but somehow I though the attack was too sweet and the finish too bitter. A bit too aggressive. It was surely very fresh when I had it and with some time it will probably become more harmonious. Because when I had it I though it was like overly sweet oily dark fruity followed by overly bitter oily resinous fruity hops. I’m a sucker for Black IPAs so I enjoyed it. Not the best beer I’ve had from Zero Gravity but the pizza was just like every other time, the best pizza on the planet. I’ve heard that in some part of the world people would give anything just for a slice of pizza. And that ladies and gentlemen, is my retirement plan.

Tap at BT> Pours a deep dark brown nearing black- ok thin lasting head. Aroma is grassy, piney minty hops, with some citrus hints, light toast and light chocolate in there as well. Flavor is slight burnt toast, some hints of roast and chocolate, but the main thing was the hops- medium to high amount of pine, resin, sap, grass, some grapefruit bitterness in the end. Well done not to overplay the dark malts- seemed fairly clean. Nice.

(Rating #3035)

On tap at the source... Pours a semi-stingy deeper than cola hue and topped with a creamy khaki head... Decent citrus and roasted maltiness in te aroma.... Citrus green hops mingle nicely with a firm roasted malt and chocolate profile. A little sense of warmth and heat on the backend. Semi-sweet throughout with a light bitterness on the backend. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
