Slight spiced aroma, like spiced squash. Dirty gold color. Interesting spiced squash flavor.

Cask gravity at GBBF ’10. Orange, slightly hazy. Sweet aroma with a hint of sweat. Thin, ugly vegetal taste. Slight dryness. Well, perhaps I would have been kinder if I had read the commercial deScription, which is as pretty as a speech from Shakespeare:
"I know a bank where the wild thyme blows,/
Where oxlips and the nodding violet grows,/
Quite over-canopied with luscious woodbine,/
With sweet musk-roses and with eglantine."
But I still hated the beer.

UPDATED: FEB 28, 2011 From cask. Pours hazy dark brown to orange with a small white head. Aroma is dark malty and roasted, slight spiced too. Sweet malty and slight spiced. Bitter and roasted malty. Sweet and caramelish into the finish. 6-3-6-3-11=2.9
From tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is slight phenolic and malty. Mild spiced, yeasty and slight phenolic. Spiced and herbal, slight phenolic. Ends dry and malty, light spiced.6-3-6-3-13=3.1

Cask, GBBF 10. Hazy gold with no head. Aromas are caramel with light citrus. Brown sugar with bready yeast. Flavours are sweet sticky caramel and light pear with some spritzy yeast and lemon. Quite cloying on the palate and a bit of a muddle.

Cask@GBBF 2010. Cloudy amber beer with a light head. The aroma is mildly ginger and the flavour is sweet and ginger. Overall a disappointing weakly flavoured Ginger beer.

Cask gravity at GBBF (I think, Craig chose it and Loz went & got it) Trade Day 03-08-10 Pours amber, lifeless and hazy. This is sweet, mead like with some honey, in fact its a cloyingly sweet mess, not my thing at all. Not a great start. A6 A2 T4 P2 Ov10 2.4
VTHopHead (1511) - Barre, Vermont, USA - AUG 1, 2010

Sampled at the 2010 VT Brewers Fest - Poured a golden amber in color with a small whitish head that quickly faded. Aroma is of fruit, herbs and honey. Flavor was very interesting with plenty of fruitiness (apples mostly), flowery herbs and a tannic quality not unlike tea. Some flavor of honey too. Finish is short and slightly sour. I liked it and so did my non-beer drinking wife.

Sampled at vt brewfest 2010. Pours a hazy golden color with an off-white head. Aroma was herbal with light fruit and notes of tea leaves. Flavor follows the aroma with a hint of honey and a touch of sourness.

Very interesting beer. Aroma is medicinal herbs and fruits. Flavor is herbs, minimal sourness, lots of fruits and almost zero bitterness with tea and some medicinal notes. A nice time travel.
