3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at the brewpub - burnt brown/copper pour, with a lasting head - more of an american hop profile in the aroma, but that can be forgiven - toasty, with light caramel and roasted nuts throughout - a touch of mineral flavor makes the beer taste more "authentic" - one of the better beers I had here.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
On draught at American Flatbread. Pours reddish with a thin pinkish head. Smells of bitter hops and malt. Taste lacks the fruitiness of a good ESB and is on the hoppy side.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Clear amber-orange assorted with a fitting off-white cover. Sweet caramelized malts dominate the flavour profile from the beginning until the end, appearing just a tiny bit underattenuated. Backing hops are mostly citrusy, hinting at a pretty good balance in the nose that does not concretise. It rather grows an accustoming bready toastiness. Light bodied, rather watery texture, active carbonation.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Mild caramel malt and earthy, herbal hops in the nose. Clear copper coloured body with low off white head that recedes to ring. Citrus hops and caramel malt flavours blend nicely with moderate finishing bitterness. Medium body with carbonation that feels somewhat slow. Sampled on tap at the brewpub with beerbuzzmontreal, MartinT, muzzlehatch, Rastacouere and Yowie.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: APR 16, 2007 The Lure:
Petite flowers and leaves grow under the fruity caramel maltiness. Subtle, but well positioned.
Citrusy and floral hops are ably balanced with the caramel and papaya fruitiness. Carbonation cannot overcome the important caramel, which is appreciated in this well-crafted, malty bitter to accompany your scrumptious pizza.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Clear amber color with a ring of offwhite lace. Mild aroma of floral hops and caramel. Flavor of floral hops and caramel. Light to medium body, lively carbonation. Not bad but a bit too mild on the hops for an ESB.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a clear deep copper with a nice, frothy, off-white and well-lacing head. Aroma is lightly caramel malty with a nice hoppy presence. Body is full, crisp, and malty, but more bitter than most ESBs. Finishes somewhat clean with some stinging carbonation. An ok version of the style.
