Cask conditioned handpump Briar Rose Birmingham. An amber beer with a whitish head. A sweet fruity beer. Lots of berries and bready malts. Possibly caramel or sugar notes. Itís a bit much even for me who likes sweet beers.

[Cask at Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading] Amber, moderate off-white head. Tastes of tea, butter and caramel, with lots of orange coming through in the finish. Little bitterness, but nevertheless itís well balanced, and very pleasant.

The Shadow of Ikea, (JDW), Coventry, listening to íI Canít Call Her Sugarí blaring from the Old Orleans next door. Pavement cafe culture in Coventry? Whatever next. Dusted copper with a level cream head. Bready, yeasty aroma of white toast dunked in buckís fizz. Clean bready taste with dry roasted and hay notes. Slightly sour and oaky; some grass and warm tupperware. Inoffensive, but not one Iíll be returning to.
