COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Finnish export version of Höga Kusten, lower in alcohol.

The bridge between ale & lager.
The town of Sollefteå in Northern Sweden is famous for having one of the highest coastlines in the country. in 1857, inspired by the bridge leading into the town and crossing over the River Ångerman, brewmaster August Zeunerts created a beer that would also act as a bridge; one that would bring lager and ale together in a smooth, refreshing blend. Still brewed, over 150 years later, Zeunerts High Coast or Höga Kusten, is this beer. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do brewing it. Skål (Cheers)!

Bottle. Golden color, white head. Slightly hoppy flavor with a malty background. Medium-light body, medium carbonation. Could be worse.

Can 500ml (K-Citymarket, Vasa, BB 08/2011)
Pale amber color, good cloudy white head, some lace. Bready malty, a bit sticky nose. Light to medium-bodied. Quite watery. Light caramel, some iron and sweet maltyness. Not the most horrible Swedish bulk lager - probably ok after sauna served icecold.

Canned, thanks oh6gdx! Deep golden, faint head. Fruity nose. Sweet with clean, hard mouthfeel and light body. Butterty and lagerl-like, low on hops, dull malt character, near no bitterness.

0.5 l can from K-Länsiväylä, Jyväskylä. Copper color, long lasting head. The aromas of honeyish and slightly bready malt and some light caramel. Honeyish malty and slightly fruity flavor with hint of herbal hops. Not very bitter, yet some hoppy roughness in finish. Very distant hint of toffeish and nutty dark malt character. Almost like a standard Swedish lager.

Pours darkish amber with a low head. Aroma and flavor are mostly malts. Pretty basic lager even though the color promised more.

500 ml can. Clear pale amber colour, thin white head. Sweetish malty aroma with a hint of grassy hops. The flavour is like the aroma: sweetish malty, with a mildly bitter hoppy finish. Simple and a little dull, but drinkable.

500 ml can. Finland.
Lively clear amber colour, small creamy white head. Dark bread (skärgårdslimpa), herbs and malt in aroma. Flavour is notes of grass, malt and hints of metal. Fizzy but thinnish.

50cl can, Prisma Jumbo, Vantaa. Poured amber color with a white head, highly carbonated. Some sweet malty and bready aroma. Flavor is sweet malty, some hoppyness towards finish. Exceeded my expectations, although wouldn´t have guessed this to be an altbier.
