2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
A yellow beer with a disappearing white head. Both the aroma and flavor are sweet malty - an ordinary pilsener.

1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
(Canned) Pale golden with a large, white and foamy head. Acidic and sourish aroma with hints of sugar and German pils-like hops. Sweet and sugary, lightly malty flavor with low bitterness and some acidity, plus alcohol hints. Light-bodied, acidic, sugary and foamy-carbonated palate. Can’t think of any reasons to buy this beer for drinking. "Proud Winner of the Gold Medal - World Beer Cup 2004, San Diego, California, USA" - yeah, right!

UPDATED: AUG 30, 2005 Can:
Very yellow with a very white head (I just had a glimpse of it, and I think it was white). Smells like bad beer, tastes like bad beer (sour and chalky).

1.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20
UPDATED: DEC 29, 2005 Can. According to the text on the can, this little bugger supposedly took gold at the 2004 World Beer Cup. I don’t know if this says more about the World Beer Cup or the state of lagers today, but I fear it may be the latter. Interestingly, the same brewery also took silver in the same category with their ’Sofiero Original’, of which I have one waiting for me. The fact that the Sofiero Original was judged to be worse (no, not less good - worse!) than the Zeunerts, doesn’t exactly make me look forward to it. Weak aroma. Sweetish. Yellow colour, white head, which is gone in a whiff. Sour, bitter (in a bad way), ricy flavour. Reminds me of something bad, but I can identify what it is.
