2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
0.5 l bottle, I got it from my mother-in-law who bought it somewhere in Samara. Colour is, well, very pale. Head is quite OK. There is quite a lot CO2 bubbles. This tastes very light. However, you can find some traces of malts and hops if you try very hard. Might be refreshing in a hot summer day.

Draught. Had this at one of the outdoor beer gartens by the Golden Gates in Kiev. It was nothing special but it hit the spot.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Clear and golden with a small off white head that does not last long. Decent carbonation is visible. A bit of grain, malt, and hops in the nose but only a bit. Hops are tasted a little more than sniffed. I taste light honey and malt. Grass. Not much was expected and it met those expectations.

2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
500ml Bottle thanks to a collegue who found it in her basement, sampled @ home, shared with Joes. NOTE: Best before 20-07-2007! Hazy orange color, small head that’s quickly gone. Smell dust, cellar and just old. Taste malts, slightly some bitter. Bit watery and earth. Low carbo, low body.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Perfect light golden color like augustiner or other classic bavarian helles beers. You can find some bitterness in aftertaste unlike 99% of other russian beers. Almonds dominates in aroma.

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from The Wine Merchant Ltd. in (near) St. Louis, MO. Slightly hazy gold color with a frothy off-white head. Fruity hop aroma. Medium body with frothy carbonation. Flavor is spicy noble hop with some breadiness. It’s got a lot more character than most pale lagers. Bitter builds nicely in the finish. It’s a good lager.

2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
This was called "Zhigulyovskoye Lager" and I purchased a half-liter bottle in New York City. The colorful label features a painting of a factory - how soviet! It looks cool, tho. The beer does not look as impressive - it has a dull yellowish color and a modest head. Aroma is mild and pleasant. The flavor begins with the taste of corn, but stays pretty dry. Light hops in the clean finish. Drinkable - but not very likable.
