bottle. Legendarnoye russkoye pivo iz Germanii? Pochemu? Well, it pours a clear golden colour with a decent white head. Hoppy nose. Malty background with lots of rather pleasant bitter hops with a resiny character. Legendary Russian beer from Germany? Why? Perhaps because it’s rather nice.

It’s golden with a white head and the aroma has notes of malt and flower. The flavor is moderately sweet with notes of malt, light acetone, apple, light straw and the finish is dry.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
19/02 0.5 l bottle Doggythedog brought from Graz, thanks for sharing! Poured golden body with medium sized head that went down pretty fast. Some corn, rice, grains and hay in its aroma. Flavor was malty, too, with a touch of metal. Hops are felt in strange herbal form here. Not too thin bodied. Finish was longer, slightly bready and sweetish. Interesting to some degree, but not really something of a beer.

This is probably Nemo Namenlos but still. Zhigulevskoe Spetsialnoe Pivo Pilsner brewed for the German company Monolith, purchased at a Russian store in Graz. Poured an uneven medium sized fluffy white head that went away relatively fast. Slightly darker gold. Spicy herbal hoppy nose, some grainy maltiness. The taste is based on a bready maltiness over a strange appleseed-bitter hoppy finish. The hopiness carries even some light piney notes. Quite interesting really but not great.
