1.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
One has to wonder why a mass producer like A/B wanted to pollute the burgeoining micro-brew market. Oh wait. MONEY. Shame on them. Thankfully, this one is only available in Texas, so all of you out there who are dissappointed you can’t get this one, don’t worry. Get a Shiner Bock instead; it will be more satisfying both in taste and in the way your conscience will feel after supporting a small brewer that really cares and not some mega-coporation more concerned with catchy ads and rising profits than a quality product.

Thanks to my future sister-in-law for this one. This wasn’t bad for a Busch product. A Shiner Bock wonnabe. Had a very slight malt taste to it. Besides taht tasted like a beer.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Thanks to my pal Dan, dberger624, for sending me this Texas Bock!
So, Shiner Bock is such a big seller in TX that AB had to invent a competitor???? That’s just F-ing LAME!
Actually pours a deep dark crimson body, with a ring of tan lacing. The aroma is sweet, malty, some burnt toast and honey. The flavor brings a week but present notes of molasses, some toffee malts… very much a dark lager.. Actually, it far better than I had anticipated, especially for being an AB product, one of their better beers!

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Thanks to Smeagol who carted this home from Texas for me. Could have picked something better though. First thing that stood out about this beer is the strange color. Looks unnatural to me. Kind of a dark orange/brown. I am sure that the color was not generated naturally. Thin had with ok carbonation. Sweet malty aroma with a hint of cat urine (nice). Flavor has a hint of roastyness to it. Mostly malt and a little chalky. Maybe a little bit of nuts also. Kind of chewy aftertaste that makes you slosh your tongue around for a while. An ok beer for ABC but not for any self respecting beer producer.

Small head. Faint sweet aroma. Fizzy and a little fruity. No hops, some nutty flavors.

Metallic, slightly nutty, slightly toasty. Pretty much a Shiner Bock twin.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Found this at some hole-in-the-wall grocery store in Fort Worth. It's kind of like Shiner Bock, but a lot more bland and adjunct-ish. Better than most A-B efforts.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Possibly the best beer that Anheuser-Busch makes. A dark color. It is smooth, but it has very little head, even from the tap. A slight taste of hops.
