1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottle: taste is a little bit of yeast. This is not really a great beer because the taste is not really there. A good drunk beer.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Deep dark brown coloured body with a bit of a cola glow and a super thin, small layer of a tan head. Aroma of vanilla, caster sugar, caramel and a touch of toasted malt and perhaps some light nuts - not much else there at all. Light-bodied; Strong toasted malt flavour with a bit of cereal and grain noticeable, some pungent caramel notes and a little bit of a nutty and metallic twang at the end. Aftertaste shows some decent sweetness, but mainly a grainy, cereal and metallic flavour that doesn’t show too well. Overall, a noticeabley mass produced beer with some decent flavour, but not enough to pass as a good beer worth drinking again. I sampled this pint on draught at Friends Bar in Austin, Texas on 05-May-2014 for US$4.99.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
This was developed specifically to compete with Shiner Bock and Sam Adam’s Boston Lager. It is not the equal of either of those beers. Ziegen Bock is thin in the nose and the palate, remarkably thin for an amber beer. The taste is not unpleasant but all malt. It also has no head retention.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
On tap at DFW. Aroma is typical dark fruits and malt. A hint of skunky hop but overall pretty malty. Pours brown with a nice frothy head. Taste is figs/dates and heavy malt. Warm and fuzzy in the mouth with a little bit of a cloying finish. Overall a comforting Lager.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
12 oz. bottle. Pours a thin, short lived, ivory head, over a clear fizzy dark amber (SRM 16) body.....nose is cereal, light toasted malts, no esters, no hops....taste is light toasted malts, with the barest hint of biscuit, toast, no sweetness, minimal complexity, no esters, hints of hops on the finish....mouth feel, light body, fizzy, burpy carbonation with light acid. This is not an Vienna Lager as it lacks the appropriate malt aromas, flavors, complexity. the malt bill needs a complete re-work. It needs Vienna malts, some caramel/crystal and more. It is almost a dark Pale Lager. BJCP 4/2/9/3/5

On tap at Spurs game. Amber color, thin off head. Not great, but better body and flavor than the light alternatives.
