2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 blank (997) - Washington, USA - OCT 12, 2007
On tap. Repeatedly. Probably the best of the beers on sale at ACL. A dark lager with a decent amount of actual hop flavor. I didn’t notice an adjunct taste, so i guess that is good for a AB beer.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 dchmela (2218) - Orlando, Florida, USA - JAN 31, 2012
On tap at some random bar at DFW. Pours a reddish amber in an icy mug. Taste is fairly big malt with a touch of caramel and not much in the way of hops. When it warms, just a light malt aroma. Not much going on here.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 JCB (2918) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - NOV 18, 2011
Classic airport tick at DFW. Man, does this place need better food and beer options. At any rate, this stuff was more or less a clone of something like Michelob Amber or something along those lines. Sweet syrupy nose, moderate carbonation, with moderate bitterness in the finish.
3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 GTAEgeek (438) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - NOV 8, 2011
On tap at the Fudruckers in the Houston Airport. Pours dark copper, with little to no head and no lacing. The aroma is caramel, wheat, plums, bananas, and some saaz hops. The flavor is very sweet, with some faint bitterness in the finish. The palate is light to medium, grainy, syrupy, with a faint alcohol finish. Overall, this is a very malty, sweet beer. Fair.

Tricky tricky, I though this was a shiner beer when I tried it. Really not all that bad, but certainly a shiner bock would do you better.
1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 deyholla (3154) - Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 10, 2011
On tap. Pours a clear amber with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has notes of bread and grains and not much else. Flavor is watered down, some grains. Not good.

Nice average amber from AB. Slightly sweet with a good aftertaste. Nothing much to talk about here.
2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 Drjohnrock (194) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - AUG 6, 2011
Draft on July 26, 2011 in Addison (suburban Dallas), Texas at my hotel’s complimentary light dinner. Medium amber hue, large slighty off-white head, cheap grainy smell with only slight malty notes, EXTREMELY light bittersweet flavor that I almost had to hire a detective to locate. This beer is supposedly A-B’s attempt to compete with Shiner Bock, a beer I gave a 1 to in my very first rating on Ratebeer. I’ll have to give Shiner Bock another chance, since I can’t imagine it being worse than this.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Mora2000 (2732) - Dallas, Texas, USA - AUG 5, 2011
Medium to dark, clear brown with a tan head. The aroma is grain and lightly toasted malt with not too much else going on. The flavor is a little bit of dark fruit with a lot of grain, toasted malt and some grass notes. Thin mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Not offensive, but a relatively flavorless beer with no real exciting qualities.
