From tap at the brewpub. Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted breadish and caramelish. Breadish, malty and caramelish. Toasted breadish finish.

On tap at Zillemarkt on 16th Jan 2014. Dark brown with a thin off-white covering that gave some lacing. Semi-sweet brew with a malt front, back and sides: caramel notes gave my sweet tooth a treat, but this is a one dimensional beer and it didn’t get my juices flowing.

Had this at Zillemarkt, Charlotteburg, Berlin, Germany Sunday 17th November 2013 Dark brown looks quite good, large frothy off-white head. Initially a little sweet perhaps but not bad, touchy of creamy coffee, bit nutty. Its fine. A5 A4 T6 P3 Ov12 3.0

The head is ok, the body black. It smells sweet, a bit roasty. The taste is mild & soft, chocolate, a bit creamy, but very mild. Overall to mild but drinkable. 10/8/9/9/-/9

Draught im Zillemarkt. Copper-brown moving toward black pour with a nicely jiggling beige head. Mineral and chalk in the nose. Taste is dry with very restrained roast, muddled Dunkelweizen notes but the aftertaste has a hint of chocolate and some classy burned notes. Brown ale territory in the absence of any fruit, medium and slightly slimy body with a hint of hop prickle at the end. Enjoyed.

Coca-cola color, beige head. Lots of sweet caramel, as the Schwarzbiers tend to have around here. Bread, liquorice, there is good stuff in here, but it has a sugar overdose.
