From tap at moeder lambic fontainas. Pours hazy copper to brown with firm white head. Aroma is yeast, spicy, malt, slightly sour. Taste is medium sweet, slightly sour, medium bitter, alcohol spiceness. For a Xmas beer quite bitter which makes it rather unique. Full bodied and quite heavy.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Real bready, bitter style Ale with a slight sweetness. I thought of this to be a bit on the more earthy side of things with huge bitterness throughout, some spice and a little barnyard funk.

Usually, these Christmas beers are way too sweet. But this one has a nice dry bitterness to balance all the sugars. Nice.

Bottled 330ml. -Vintage 2012. Dark brown coloured, small to medium sized off-white head, caramel and touch of spices in the nose. Sweet malty, fruity and dried fruits with notes of spices. Dry bitter finish, alcohol well hidden. Let’s say all in all pretty average.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
2012. Dark amber-brown body with a lasting off white head. Fruity notes, orange in the aroma, dusty, sweet and lovely. Sweet taste with a very tiny touch of tartness, berries, well, more jammy really, sweetish, slightly bitter, mild, subdued, and nice. Though, honesty, too toned down in flavor to be fully effective. Bitter finish. Close to a great beer, but not there.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. The nose is malt, dark bread and butterscotch. The pour is a deep mahogany brown. The taste is candy sugar and roasted malt. A nice medium palette with mild carbonation. A great spicy belgian well worth trying.

Bottle@Home. Faint aroma, some chocolate and licorice. Brown, small beige head, good lace. Black chocolate, laurel, licorice, pretty bitter finish. Very dry. Not bad but not my kind of flavours.
