Garrold (4018) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - FEB 29, 2016
Bottle. Mig’s World of Wine, Brussels. 8.5%. Hazy, copper colour. Thin, off white head. Nose has sugary, spicy malts. Fruity esters. Some tangy hop. Notes of Christmas spice, although that could well be imagined. Taste is sugary sweet, with a surprising, full hop tanginess. Smooth mouthfeel. Long, fruity bitter finish. Very nice. Punchy stuff.

Bottle @ home ( version 2013). Ramata carica, riflessi aranciati e mogano, schiuma beige fine persistente. Aroma intenso, molto fine piuttosto complesso, cappuccino, pastafrolla, caramello, lievito belga, liquore e cioccolato fondente.

Bottle, 33cL. 2014. Home. A sparkling dark brown mahogany beer with a big off-white head ; average retention. Flower & herb (nose), roast, chocolate, caramel, herb, dry fruits. Medium sweet, round, light to medium dry refreshing ; light warming. Medium body, light to medium texture, average carbonation, dry bitter chocolate finish. Overall, a good belgian strong ale : nice floral and malty character ; solid ; remember me a bit of Westvleteren 8.

EdKing (2356) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 24, 2016
Bottle of the 2014, from Dranken Pauwels. Slightly hazy reddish chestnut brown with an off white head. Nose is bit of yeast extract, slight oxidization, toasted malt, earthy, grassy hop, straw, toast, red fruit. Marmite yeast extract is dominating a bit. Taste is quite hoppy, grassy, pine, with lots of toasted malt and yeast extract. On the finish I’m getting some fruit coming through. Bit of red berry fruit, maybe dried apricot and then slight pine and menthol. It’s got quite a tang to it.

330ml bottle (2014 vintage). Hazy chestnut color. Huge size, thick yellow head, stays forever. Raisins, malty, grainy, tiny bit of alcohol in aroma. Sweet malts, grassy hops in taste. Simple beer, but so delicious. I like it.
