Pours a deep copper color with two fingers of tight tiny bubbled eggshell foam. Nose is full of fruity yeast, moist earth, cedar, cinnamon, raisin, leather. Palate follows... complex, touch of boozy warmth, nice balance between yeasty esters, earthy mystery and spicy booze. Touch of bitterness and spice lingers. Good carb ! Proper.

Tap. Nice light tan frothy head, dark copper with ruby highlights. Slight spice in the aroma, slight dark fruits, touch bready as well. Flavor is pleasant, dark fruit again, touch of prune, minimal spice. Clean and nice. Thinner to medium body.

Tap at. Tatoverede enke very very dark brown smooth brown head. Belgian yeasts belgian nuts in the aroma slightly cellar and mouldy. Flavor is nutty roasted malty bitter dark dried fruits bitter spicy notes like tea and stinging nettle. Bitter herbs. Sweet malts balance and even far away from getting cloying. Encore!

Draft at GBD in Washington. Poured a light hazy amber copper color with a large white head. Aroma was sweet toffee, some spices, earthy notes. Flavor was earthy hops, caramel sweetness is in there. Tasty.

Bottled, 330ml at The Craven Arms, Birmingham. Dark brown with off white head. I thought that there was quite a harsh, fizzed flavour to this, metallic and tinny in character. The fruitiness emerges later but the palate had taken a bashing early on. Not sure.

DAA; Pours hazy cobber with medium lasting off-white head. Aroma is malty, caramell, fruity and yeasty. Flavour is much the same -adding alchole. Medium body, spritzy with a bity alchole, bitter finish.

Brown black, off white head. dried fruits, raisins, malt, ’rye bread’, some spices in the back. Taste is sweet but also dry, soft, even a creamy palate. very well balanced. This is a very drinkable, enjoyable winterbeer with only 7.8%, no alcohol bomb. Although nose is fine and agreable, there is still something I do not like but hard to define.
