3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
33cl bottle - pours deep amber with orange hints and an eggshell head. Nose reveals some nuttmeg, some cinnamon, clove - very spicy (nice), caramel. Mouthfeel is sweet in the beginning, going smoothly to a bitter finish and even some smokiness in the aftertaste. Taste is again full of herbs and spices. Nice

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours very dark brown with touch of red that is almost opaque with particulate yeast floating about. Medium head that sustains itself leaving little lacing behind. Dark roasted malts with some woody notes. Prominent herbal and grassy hops. Moderately bitter up front and consistent throughout with a very long. Medium body with Medium carbonation. Long bitter finish. This is very different from what Iíve had before. Very good.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle picked up at State Line in Elkton, MD. Served in a De La Senne tulip.
Pours a moderate caramel color with a light tan head and some good lacing. The nose carries some nice yeast tones with a bit of spice and fruit and some additional light spice in the background. The flavor falls along the same lines and is fairly well-integrated with everything going on, including the malt. Medium body with good carbonation and a slight chewiness. Good brew.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draught Very dense & fine creamcoloured head; receding with textbook lace over fully hazy dark-brown beer. Creamy nose, mild & dark malts; pinch of (red) pepper in the nose. Sourish, roasted, very mildly sweet and with mild bitterness. Finish are malts: dark, but also slightly oxydized, and sporting a point of coffee. Very creamy MF, at least medium bodied. Good palate & MF, but the flavours donít balance out at 100%, thereís some clashing. Might need some settling.
