Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy deep bronze-hued amber body with a huge creamy off-white head. Nose is nuts, chocolate, nougat, brown sugar, Belgian ale yeast and hints of biscuits, grains and candi sugar. Taste is caramel, Belgian ale yeast, burnt toast, grains, toffee and hints of brown sugar, bread and bitter herbs. Medium body, medium to high carbonation. Quite pleasant dark ale in the Belgian tradition, with a noticeable hint to the Nordic Christmas ales.

StueyD (1280) - Heacham, Norfolk, ENGLAND - JAN 11, 2015
A hazy reddish brown coloured beer with a frothy off white head. A light aroma of lightly roasted malt, pale caramel, toast and biscuity. Dry mouthfeel. The taste starts off with a smooth, roasted malt flavour, caramel, toasty and biscuity, a tad spicy, this is followed by a mild sour fruit flavour that lingers on into the finish. Tasted at Moeder Lambic "Fontainas" Brussels. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at Strangeloves. Dark brown pour with a good amount of tan foam that left lots of lace. Dark red and browned stone fruit and berries. Warms to some nice raisin notes. Dates and prunes. Cinnamon and pepper flavors. Great aged Christmas Brew!
