2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
500ml can. Appearance: pale yellow with nice white head. Head dissapears rather quickly. Typical intense aroma for Pale Lagers, maybe some extra sweetness. Taste: metallic, caramel, some bitterness. Finish watery with light bitterness. Medium carbonation. Overall: I was expecting worse, it’s not totally without character like most cheap lagers.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
330ml bottle labelled as Zipfer Original from a supermarket in Pecs, Hungary. ’slightly hazy medium yellow colour, small mostly diminishing frothy white head and virtually no lacing. Aroma of moderate malts with cookie and nutty notes accompanied by light floral hops and a bit of dough and nutmeg. Taste is moderately acidic, with a lightly bitter finish with a slight alcoholic feel, medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Was somewhat shocked, I assumed it was another uninteresting bulk lager but there was even some yeast and character to it, more hopping and it would’ve been way above three even.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20
5.5% bottle from Liquor Mountain. A twist top which is rare in Japan. Clear straw gold with a big fizzy white head of foam & a freshly mowed grass & pungent earthy aroma. The body is light & smooth while the taste is sugary sweet, grass & hay with a clean bitter finish. Not bad after a day of work but a bit too sweet I think.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
50cl can, bought in Interspar on account of label mentioning "Gebraut mit Naturhopfen"... Pours a pillowy piss yellow, chemical/plastic fumes arise through sickly sweet mash malts; mouthfeel of adhesive cardboard, bandaid; metallic hop kick sets in late in overdrive. A drainpour desaster - please somebody explain how this reached 94% as a Pale Lager?
