Bottle. Medium, slightly hazy gold with a thin bright white head. The nose is sweet and a little meaty with bologna. There is also some character of dusty old books mixed with hints of apples. The taste has some more of that dusty old book character. There is also some bread crust. Hints of sweet potato sneak through. Meh.

(Rating #3864)

Backlog from 14.06.2011. Half-liter can. Pale yellow-gold pour with medium carbonation and a large sudsy white head. Malty, mildly grainy nose, a little pungent, but not much there. Dry, malty, lightly chalky and rubbery. Relatively clean if a little slimy, but thankfully not overwhelmingly sweet. Medium body, a little sharp rather than smooth. OK.

Now how am I supposed to not buy a big ass Michelob looking bottle? Is that picture on this page what the bottles look like in Europe? Those bottles are nice, but they got nothin’ on these Michelob knock offs. The beer pours a hazy yellow color with a small head and very little lace. The aroma has plenty of hay, in fact it’s pretty dominated with hay like aromas. I dig the hay, I don’t dig the undertones of breakfast cereal. The beer tastes very clean and has a fairly high level of herbal hoppiness for the style. There is some apple fruitiness in there and the cornflakes are mild and kept well in check. The beer finishes fairly dry. The bottle tells me that this is an all-malt lager, perhaps Premium Lager might be a better spot for it.
