0,5 liter fles uit Oostenrijk. Goudgeel pils redelijke kraag. Aroma is niet sterk aanwezig maar ruikt wat fris. Smaakt als een goed pilsje met redelijke afdronk. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

OLD NOTES FEB 4, 2004 I’m pretty sure this is the beer I have. The 5.4% gave it away. Not too much on the nose. Seems like a lager with a bit of hops. Pours pale gold with a decent but diminishing head. Sweet body. Quite a sour kind of punch to it. Not what I expected. Not as bitter as other pilsners.

0,5l can. Golden color with fast disappearing head. Malty aroma. Taste is medium bitter, with sweet aftertaste. Medium body and average carbonation. Nice and easy drinkable lager.

Flasche 50cl. Glanzfeines Helles mit recht wenig Kohlensäure, dafür aber einer schönen grasigen Hopfennote. Überraschend gut!

Tap. Plain gold pour. Inoffensive mild German-hop aroma. Bready hops. Has an "ale-ness" in the finish that puts it a step above a simple pale lager, but not particularly interesting.

500ml can. Appearance: pale yellow with nice white head. Head dissapears rather quickly. Typical intense aroma for Pale Lagers, maybe some extra sweetness. Taste: metallic, caramel, some bitterness. Finish watery with light bitterness. Medium carbonation. Overall: I was expecting worse, it’s not totally without character like most cheap lagers.

aronvarga (211) - Budapest, HUNGARY - NOV 21, 2013
500 ml can. Clear, ligh pale golden colour, long-life large off-white head, citric and lime aroma, light watery body, good fizziness, corny sweet taste, chewy bitter hoppy palate.

330ml bottle labelled as Zipfer Original from a supermarket in Pecs, Hungary. ’slightly hazy medium yellow colour, small mostly diminishing frothy white head and virtually no lacing. Aroma of moderate malts with cookie and nutty notes accompanied by light floral hops and a bit of dough and nutmeg. Taste is moderately acidic, with a lightly bitter finish with a slight alcoholic feel, medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Was somewhat shocked, I assumed it was another uninteresting bulk lager but there was even some yeast and character to it, more hopping and it would’ve been way above three even.

Golden with a white head. Light grain, sweet, a touch of hop in the aroma. Medium, carbonated body. Flavor is sweet cereal grains, light hop. Not a bunch of depth here. Decent.
