3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
12 oz bottle from the smoke shop in McCook. This was definitely the best beer I consumed in McCook and now I’m having another bottle. It’s a great looking porter, very black with a tan head that never goes away. Aroma is rich and full with malty notes of cacao, coffee, light hops and dark bread. Palate is medium dense and works well with the flavors of chocolate, coffee, raisins and earth. Some modest hop notes come through to add a pleasant bitter dimension.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz bottle purchased at HyVee in West Des Moines, Iowa as a single. The pour is a black brown, almost opaque, with a ½ inch khaki head. The aroma is soft char roast, faint vanilla sweet, and some nutty caramel malt. The taste is the sweet caramel nut malt, followed by char roast and cereal grain flavor of oatmeal. The palate is medium bodied with active carbonation and a char mineral finish. Easy drinking, solid Porter.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Opaque black with a miniscule sized beige head. Aromatics consist of dark roast, chocolate, oatmeal, and malt. Full bodied and quite smooth. Flavours present in the aroma are present in the taste as well with the addition of some vanilla, milk and hops in the finish which create a mildly sweet finish that is balanced well with hops and roast. Quite nice.

esire for winter to never end. Incorporating the smooth creaminess of organic rolled oats, our Oatmeal Porter ditches the stout’s roasted bitterness in favor

En fût chez Crescent Moon Alehouse: Plus sur le caramel que le chocolat avec une délicate torréfaction. Équilibré mais sans histoire.

2.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20
Poured from bottle into pint glass. A pretty uneventful beer. Very good mouthfeel and low carbonation. I wish the flavor was as good. Low roastiness, which is fine, but there is nothing else that steps up. Finish contains off flavors and is a touch sour.
