0,5l fles. Amberkleurig helder bier met bijna geen schuim. De smaak en geur zijn graan en moutachtig redelijke afdronk tikkeltje droog.

Bottle. Pours clear golden with airy white head. Clear aroma of hops, yeast and malt. Bitter, hoppy flavour with notes of yeast and paper and some malty touches. Mildly bitter finish. Well-balanced and acceptable but nothing revolutionary.

bartlebier (1480) - Belchum im Breisgau, GERMANY - SEP 10, 2013
50cl BB04/2014. Golden-amber hued with water clearing station foam. Almond, bready grained malts produce caramel sweetness with some nut character the pepper & breadcrust spice hop & hop extract cannot quite compete with. Weak finish, unbalanced between rough and lacklustre, drinkable enough.

0.5l bottle. Golden body, white head. Aroma and taste is bready with some floral hoppyness. Easy to drink. Nothing too fancy, this beer is simple, but very well made. I could session it.

Ernest (6143) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAY 10, 2013
Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is clear dark yellow to light amber. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain, bread, husks), lightly hoppy (herbs), with light notes of butter and metal. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately bitter, slightly husky. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Ah, the ubiquitous Zirndorfer. It’s all over the place in Nuernberg...supermarkets, casinos, kebab and pizza shops, you name it. So it’s not too surprising to find it’s made by the Tucher beverage group. On the plus side, it’s not terrible...yes, it’s kind of husky and a touch buttery, but even from the first whiff I knew it wasn’t going to be repulsive. There are worse examples from much smaller breweries. But the trade off is an utter lack of character...it’s very generic and roughly hewn.

TAR (2436) - Lafayette, Colorado, USA - APR 20, 2013
Fresh bottle consumed in Nov. 2012: Yellow gold. Creamy and persistent white foam. Aroma displays a slightly husky, indistinct maltiness, with a hint of paper, as well. Pleasant hints of lemon, toasted straw and subdued fruitiness. Tight and frothy carbonation. Somewhat foamy, though. Malt is quite weighty and fuzzy, initially, and limply papery, additionally. Trailing suggestions of toffee and toast combine with the relatively high residual sweetness to muddle the already undefined malt and lend unneeded weight. Turkish-apricot sugars abound. A wet hay limpness and toasted bread depth coincide with merely a trace of flowers which poke through the scantly hopped finish. Touch of waxy residue lingers. Not a particularly fine-tuned or characterful example. Very straightforward.
